2023 World Series odds: MLB updated title lines, Braves still setting pace
The 162-game Major League Baseball regular season is a marathon, and we're now in the final sprint for the playoffs.
Teams have less than a week (about a half-dozen games) left, so the jockeying for playoff position is getting intense.
The National League's best teams — the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers — have the lowest odds, but the defending champion Houston Astros of the American League have faded down the stretch.
RELATED: Updated AL, NL MVP odds
Ronald Acuña Jr. and the Braves, the first team to 100 wins this season, are the favorites at +260 (bet $10 to win $36 total), dipping slightly from +240 last week.Â
Mookie Betts and the Dodgers improved to +430 from +550, as they have won eight of their past 10 games.
Adley Rustchman and the Baltimore Orioles remain a team to keep an eye on. Baltimore has won six of its past nine games and moved past Houston on the odds list.
What to make of the Astros? Houston has lost nine of its last 12 games, but more troubling is it just got swept in three games by the Kansas City Royals (54-102), who have the second-worst record in baseball.
At home!
The Astros slid into a tie for sixth in odds at +1300 with the Philadelphia Phillies.
